To ensure product health and safety, the Group adheres to the hazardous substances free (“HSF”) management approach of “complying with laws and regulations, upholding environmental protection, gaining customer satisfaction, striving for continuous improvement”. It has enforced an effective hazardous substance process management (“HSPM”) system. Also, the Group has strictly carried out hazardous substance identification, assessment and control work, which are managed according to the risk level, in order to prevent environmental pollution or safety issues. Besides, innovative technology and craftsmanship are the core competitive strengths of Tongda. Protecting Our Home with Green Operations

Tongda is committed to integrating sustainability concepts into environmental management. It not only strictly abides by national and local environmental laws and regulations, but also establishes an environmental management system to strengthen the management of resource utilisation, emissions pollution and climate change, in order to promote green operation. To enhance the effectiveness of environmental management, the Group actively promotes material upgrading, optimisation of production processes, so as to reduce the production of scrap and hazardous waste, and hence prevent hazardous waste leakage and environmental pollution. At the same time, all of the Group’s subsidiary divisions have developed management plan for waste reduction target, such as 100% of monthly on-time treatment for hazardous waste and generating less than 0.18 tonnes of waste lamps, etc., and monitored the progress of waste reduction measures.

To realise green and low-carbon operations, each division of the Group has constituted an Energy Management Task Force to enforce the energy-saving and emission reduction management system, and carry out energy consumption statistics, equipment inspection and electricity consumption supervision, etc. By formulating targets and evaluating performance on a regular basis, it has facilitated the constant improvement of energy efficiency to prevent wasting energy and resources. In addition, the Group actively uses renewable energy and has built photovoltaic systems in its factories, expecting to save 1 million kWh of electricity annually.
